Program Overview for Incoming Students
The intent of Framingham State College's laptop program is to bring technology-rich tools and resources into the classroom and help instructors to expand and deepen the learning experiences of their students. The wireless technology expands the access for students and instructors to Web-based and network-based resources through the use of laptops equipped with wireless LAN cards communicating with wireless access units, which are located across campus in the academic buildings, the Center for Academic Support and Advising, the Library, the College Center and the Residence Halls
All new students entering the College are required to own a wireless laptop computer. A discounted laptop, which conforms with the current campus standards, is available through our chosen vendor to new, returning and graduating students.
Please be advised that the installation of Microsoft Office on these recommended laptops is under the Microsoft Campus Agreement. The license is the sole property of the College. The software must be removed upon leaving the college. Students that have graduated are eligible under this Agreement to keep the software installed on their machines. |
