Laptop Loaner Program

Framingham State College is committed to infusing technology into the classroom and course work. The goal of the wireless laptop program is to provide FSC students with the technical tools and knowledge required in both the workplace and world of the 21st century.

Certain courses are designated by the College as "laptop courses" and require all students enrolled in these courses to have wireless laptops. Students enrolled in "laptop courses", who are not required to own their laptop, may borrow a laptop from the ITS Department Students, who own a compatible laptop computer but do not have a wireless card, may also visit the laptop help desk to borrow a wireless card.

In order to be eligible to borrow a laptop from the College a student must:  Have entered FSC as a freshman prior to Fall 2002 or as a transfer prior to Spring 2003. Be registered for a laptop class prior to the start of the semester. Any students registering during the Course Add/Course Drop period cannot be guaranteed the loan of a laptop.

All students that are eligible to borrow a laptop and/or wireless card can pick them up at the Laptop Helpdesk during the first week of school (laptops and/or wireless card will not be distributed in class). PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU HAVE YOUR OWN LAPTOP YOU DO NOT NEED TO BORROW ONE FROM THE COLLEGE.

Before picking up your laptop you will need:

  • Present a valid FSC ID.
  • Read and sign the FSC laptop contract after reviewing the service agreement.
Please note: Students who borrowed a laptop in the past and failed to comply with the contract will be required to provide their own laptops.
